It's sunny one minute then it's raining, one day it's freezing and a few later feels positively like summer again - argh!
My key suggestion would be light layers and having options, because ourBritish weather can be so very unpredictable!
Consider what you can add on and remove easily, then if you feel too hot, or cold once on the move you can quickly adjust. Just make sure you've got bag space for that! I really like this bag I got from Primark that is cross body, but has drawstring to expand further - I can get so much in it, truly the Mary Poppins bag, and it just cost me £10!
Remember the carrier is another layer of heat, and you want to add heat from the outside in :)
Look at getting a babywearing rain cover - not too bulky / hot (you can get somethat are fleecy), and add a slight layer of cover-up if needed. I quite like Bundlebean as a brandor if you want something very special looking opt for a custom made cover by Babywearing Cosy (my customers can get a bit of a discount on these!).
If baby is a bit older (once sitting unaided) they could be in their light puddlesuit then popped into the carrier , just nothing too chunky / padded that could compromise on carrier fit / cause slumping. Please avoid pram/snowsuits!
Or you could use a babywearing coat (note if you want investment & longevity opt for something thats suited to back carrying too - Wombat / Mamallia) these have a zip on pouch to wrap around you both, or get a zip panel (zip us in) to extend your existing coat. If a coat feels like too much perhaps a babywearing hoodie, or something extra large in fit to wrap around you both. As always we want to ensure baby is nice and high, with their face in view / no fabric - particularly hoods obscuring airways (one side up only) so you can clearly see baby and monitor as you go. A turtleneck for baby to give their head a bit of coverage and their neck could be an option for adding some extra warmth too.
Hope that's given you some ideas!
Emma
