LITTLE ONE SNUG
Wrapping the Mother
Pre & Postpartum Support Sessions
Take some time to nurture yourself as your body changes through pregnancy and motherhood.
As soon as you announce you're expecting, so much of the focus turns to your growing baby. And once they arrive, so much of your attention naturally goes into holding and caring for them. But who is holding you, mama?
It's so important we mother the mother, too – creating space to be nurtured, supported and cared for through this time of enormous change. These relaxed sessions are intentionally very baby-inclusive, but focus on you.
Discover belly and pelvic wrapping practices through both modern and more traditional ways, to introduce warmth, comfort, feel more grounded, protected and held. With my babywearing expertise, we'll combine carrying and body wrapping with a suitable wrap, so you can experience the joy of holding your baby close with a soft cloth that will feel lovely on your body as we spread the fabric optimally.

Practical ideas to take home, so you can get started straightaway

How can postpartum wrapping, belly binding and pelvic wrapping support me?
Across many cultures, postpartum care includes physical nurturing practices such as belly binding, pelvic wrapping, massage and warmth. Cloth practices, including rebozo wrapping, are an established part of caring for mothers after birth. Traditions include relaxing ceremonies such as Closing of the Bones too. All these practices recognise something easily overlooked in western postnatal life: the mother needs caring for, not just the baby. And as mentioned Wrapping is one way we can nuture our changing body. You don't necessarily need specialist equipment – often you'll have a suitable fabric item(s) at home!
Depending on the method and what feels right for your body, wrapping may offer:
-
Warmth and comfort: a cosy layer during a time when you may be spending lots of time resting and feeding.
-
A feeling of support: gentle containment around your belly or hips, which some people find comforting.
-
A sense of being held: an opportunity to reconnect with your body and feel more grounded.
-
Practical ideas for everyday life: ways of using cloth and clothing that you can revisit at other stages of life.
The experience is personal. Different people enjoy different methods, and there isn't one correct way to wrap. We'll explore what feels comfortable and useful for you.

I welcome pregnant and postpartum mothers from across East Sussex to my home studio – people tend to travel locally from Hastings, St Leonards-on-Sea, Bexhill, Battle, Rye, Eastbourne and beyond!
This session is perfect if you're:
-
Pregnant and curious about ways to support your changing body and have tools for the postpartum too.
-
Looking for comfort around your belly, hips or lower back.
-
Missing that feeling of being cared for while so much of your energy goes into caring for others.
-
Feeling disconnected from your body after pregnancy and birth.
-
Curious about traditional practices such as belly binding, pelvic wrapping and rebozo.
-
Looking for simple, practical ways to bring warmth, comfort, and holistic healing into everyday motherhood.
-
Keen to learn something you can continue exploring at home.

First up Tea & Talk
We'll settle in with a cup of tea and a warm blanket around your shoulders. We can chat about your pregnancy, birth, what has brought you here and how you're finding life with your baby.

There's no need to have anything prepared or know what you'd like to explore. This time helps me understand you, your experiences and what you'd like from our session.

Exploration & discovery time
We'll explore different approaches to wrapping, using a selection of materials and methods. These might include:
-
Cloth: suitable babywearing wraps, rebozos and cotton scarves.
-
Purpose-designed support: examples of womb belts and modern adjustable support garments.
-
Everyday options: clothing, soft layers and ways of combining different materials.
With my Babywearing Consultancy expertise, I'll also show you how a suitable stretchy baby wrap can be used for both gentle postpartum body wrapping and carrying your baby. We'll explore how one piece of cloth can offer different kinds of support, and touch on safe, comfortable positioning when carrying your little one.
Wrapping ideas to take home / put into use from today!
My hope is that you'll leave with practical ideas you can continue exploring for yourself – whether that's a wrapping technique, a different way to use something you already own, or simply a new way to make time for your own comfort.
